Be the Captain of your own adventure on a backwater tour of Amelia Island and it’s surrounding areas. Experienced guides will lead you on an adventure through the waterways of Amelia Island as you travel on your own CraigCat Tour boat. There are  various places to explore by water such as Downtown Fernandina Beach, Fort Clinch, Tiger Island, Cumberland Island, Fort George, and many more! These tour locations are treasured for their rich history and natural charm.

Our CraigCat catamarans are quick, roomy and exceptionally well-built water vehicles. They deliver a unique experience with the performance of a sports boat and the ability to drift across the water (speeds up to 25 mph!) and the genuine comfort of a runabout. These mini boats offer high-speed stability and comfort with unmatched horsepower and high-tech handling. CraigCat sets the standard in aquatic excitement and you will not be disappointed in the fun!

Dolphins, Manatee, Horses, Oh my!

On this journey, you also have the opportunity to see various wildlife unique to this area. Will you see a dolphin playing in the water? A manatee passing by your boat? Or maybe some majestic wild horses running free on the shores of Cumberland Island. Our guides are local naturalists with plenty of interesting facts about the area that will keep you entertained for hours.

Family Fun for Everyone

Each CraigCat can carry 2 people, one driver and one passenger. Drivers must be over 18, but the passenger can be 5 or above, so this is a great family water tour.  We can also accommodate one passenger in the tour guide’s CraigCat, so a family of 5 can enjoy this amazing tour, too. Larger family? No problem, you could also book our pleasure boat “Ms. Elvira” so you can sit back and let our Captain do all the work while you watch the CraigCats glide across the water.

We had a group of 7 on the Craigcat boat tour and we had an amazing time. Kyle was our guide and he is so knowledgable of everything in the area. We were able to see a shark, dolphins, jelly fish, wild horses and even a rattlesnake. I would highly recommend this tour and will definitely go back the next time I’m in the area.

My 71 year old mother and I went on an evening sunset cruise with this company a few weeks ago. Our guide was extremely personable and so entertaining. He knew all sorts of local history and was knowledgeable about the ecosystem and wildlife. We saw many bird species, dolphins, and the wild horses on Cumberland Island. This excursion exceeded our expectations. He even gave us his card and said to reach out if we needed anything because of the tropical weather alerts that were soon to follow since we were traveling. We would highly recommend this company! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My wife and I did the 2 1/2 hour CraigCat Tour. It was excellent!! We saw a manatee, numerous dolphins and the Cumberland Island horses. We also collected sharks teeth. Kyle was our guide and he was great. He went over the operation of the boats and was very knowledgeable about the wildlife that we saw and the history of Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone that visits Amelia Island. We have said that we will go on it again. It’s a five star tour.

We had an awesome time on Riptide with Kyle as our guide. We loved that he made the experience for our granddaughters exciting and memorable by finding the horses on Cumberland and spotting several dolphin. We will definitely return for more adventures on the water.

We went on our first CraigCat Catamaran Tour with Riptide Watersports and it was the best day! It's such a fun way to spend a few hours on the water exploring the surrounding islands in Amelia Island, while learning a little history as well! 10/10 recommend this tour!

Wow! I can’t say enough about this experience. It was worth every penny. Kyle took us out on a tour and made it so special…. From the stop for shark teeth hunting to shelling to looking for manatees and horses… it was an absolute highlight of our time on the island.I loved his quick wit and humor - he made the time so enjoyable. He also knows so much about the area as a native so he shared a lot of history as well as great recommendations. He was kind and thoughtful - he took some great photos of me and my boyfriend that we will treasure as a special memory.We always felt safe. The equipment was top notch. Instructions were easy to follow for everything from the meeting spot to how to handle the boat. And these boats are SO MUCH FUN!!! We laughed so much having a great time on the water and just enjoyed every single minute of it!!!

We were only at Fernandina Beach for one day and scheduled an umbrella and two chairs set up from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. When we walked out on the beach, our setup was precisely where they said it would be, and the items were in great condition. If you want a peaceful, easy day, this is the way to go! When the young man came back to pick things up, he was courteous, and when we asked, he gave us great eating suggestions in the Historic downtown area. This is an excellent place for your rental needs.

We used Riptide for chair rentals during our recent beach trip and service was excellent! I made one call and they took care of the rest. Chairs & umbrellas were set up and picked up on time each day with no issues. They are very flexible to work with, too. Highly recommend this group and will definitely use them again on our next trip!
